Transparent PNG for Logos and Icons (Remove Black or White Background)

Product shots and logo plates often sit on a solid field. Key out black or white, soften edges with feather, and keep an alpha channel for engines, browsers and design tools.

Steps

  1. Open the Transparent PNG tool and upload a logo or icon on black or white, or start from a demo sample.
  2. Pick Remove black or Remove white. Raise Threshold until the backdrop disappears.
  3. Raise Feather slightly so edges are not jagged; check the cutout on the checkerboard.
  4. Download the transparent PNG, or Send to PBR generator if you also need normal / height / roughness maps.

When to use black vs white keying

Match the photo backdrop. Renders on black use Remove black; studio shots on white use Remove white. Mixed grey backdrops need a different workflow (manual mask) and are outside this tool’s scope.

Threshold and feather

Threshold sets how close a pixel must be to pure black or white before it becomes transparent. Feather adds a soft ramp so hairlines and anti-aliased edges do not look cut with scissors.

Using the cutout in 3D

Send the PNG into the homepage PBR editor to build maps for embossed logos on products, decals or UI mock materials. Alpha still composites over any backdrop in engines that read transparency.
